It’s Prom Time!
Share short videos that capture the magic of your high school prom for a chance to win exciting prizes! Upload your up to two-minute-long videos at lohud.com/snap and select “prom” from the drop-down menu. Be sure to fill in all the boxes with your name, email, phone number, school and location where the video was shot. The photo staff at The Journal News will choose three winners, who will take home a Go Pro Hero 3 Silver Edition.

All videos will appear on lohud.com. The deadline enter is June 17.

A University of Vermont student athlete from Armonk died of a cardiac arrhythmia, the Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled, as his family shared their first public comments on the young man’s death.

Jamie Love, 20, who was discovered by suitemates at Redstone Lofts about 2 a.m. Feb. 17, died from natural causes. His family, in a statement sent to The Journal News on Monday, wrote that he apparently “died peacefully in his sleep” from an irregular heartbeat they previously did not know about.

“This is a rare tragedy that is seen in healthy, young, active people,” the family wrote. “In 99 percent of cases, there is no inheritable cause and it’s an unfortunate anomaly in one individual.”
