Do you know the story of the “Pineapple and the Hare?” No? Neither did they. Middle school students were upset over New York state standardized test questions based on a baffling tale about a race between heavy-footed piece fruit and a speedy animal that didn’t make much sense.  The state eventual threw out the questions, but why was there in the first place?
