A junior nurse at Westchester Medical Center, Cherie Schilio was pushed from her full-time job in the trauma intensive care unit, after the hospital cut 132 nurses. The lay-offs have resulted in senior nurses “bumping” junior ones from their jobs. This 30-year-old mother now has a per-diem employment and no longer receives benefits.
